In which Amanda meets the Hasselblad

I've had the itch to shoot some medium format for awhile, so I was thrilled when my good friend Manda agreed to model for me and my trusty Hasselblad. I'm going to be incorporating some medium format work into my wedding repertoire, and was hoping to try out a few things. We set out for Hoyt Arboretum, which, aside from being a gorgeous setting, truly does make you feel as if you're in the middle of nowhere, even if you can occasionally hear the Burnside traffic just a mile or so away.
I have to say that when I got the film scans back yesterday, I was pleasantly surprised at how little processing I had to do in Photoshop. Yes, it has been that long since I've had a film work-flow, but I think I'll be using it more and more as a supplement to the digital work. It definitely made me remember what I love about photography in the first place.

I am excited to see some wedding shots with the hasselblad! It would look so beautiful! I am going to a wedding this weekend and planning to bring my hasselblad along. I am not very comfortable with it just yet, so I hope I can get 1 or 2 good shots!
